What size apartments are available at Independence Place Apartments?
Independence Place Apartments offer the perfect housing option for residents from Fort Bliss, the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), El Paso Community College or all of El Paso. We offer 1 bedroom/1 bathroom, 2 bedroom/2 bathroom, 3 bedroom/3 bathrooms, 4 bedroom/4 bathroom apartments that will fit anyone’s lifestyle.
What are the terms of the lease agreement at Independence Place Apartments?
We are offering 7 to 12 month leases. 3 month leases will be provided with a $150 upcharge. Our lease terms are designed to fit any lifestyle – perfect for resident from Fort Bliss, the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and El Paso Community College.
What are individual leases?
Individual leases are contracts between Independence Place Apartments and the individual renter for each room. The benefits of Individual leases include protecting the individual from any rent owed by another roommate should they move out.
How much are the apartments?
All leases are based on a total contract amount which is payable in equal monthly installments. The first installment is due on move-in day, and all subsequent installments are due on the first of the month beginning the month after you move-in. We welcome pre-payments if you choose to pay for more than one month at a time. The rates for each size apartment are as follows:

What Utilities are included in the rent and how are overages billed back?
Cable with HBO, high-speed Internet, electricity (with monthly cap), water/sewer, and garbage are all included in your monthly installment. Electricity has a usage cap per bedroom of $35. If an apartment exceeds the monthly cap for electricity usage, all residents in the apartment will be billed equally for the overage.
What is included in the installment payments?
All Independence Place apartments come fully furnished in the common areas and bedrooms. There are full size washers and dryers in each apartment and the kitchen includes a stove, refrigerator, freezer with ice maker, dishwasher, garbage disposal and microwave. Cable with HBO, high-speed Internet, electricity (with monthly cap), water/sewer, and garbage are all included in your monthly installment.
What furniture is included in the apartment?
Each bedroom is furnished with a standard full-size bed, extra storage underneath bed, a dresser, desk, and chair. The living rooms have a micro suede sectional couch, coffee table, an entertainment console, and bar stools for the dining counter.

What happens if I don’t like my roommate?
Our management team encourages you to communicate openly with your roommates in an attempt to resolve any conflicts that may arise from sharing an apartment together. There is a Roommate’s Bill of Rights that is agreed to upon signing your lease contract that will help you address common roommate issues, such as guest visitation, apartment décor, sleeping schedules, etc. If you and your roommates are unable to reach a mutual agreement or there is a violation of the lease occurring within your apartment, please feel free to contact our management team. We will do our best to assist you with roommate mediation. As a last resort, residents can transfer to another unit, upon availability, for a $200 transfer fee.
Are pets allowed?
Unfortunately at this time Independence Place Apartments does not allow pets.
How do you match roommates?
When completing your lease online, you will complete an extensive roommate description form on yourself and on what you desire in a roommate. Our program will then filter the information provided and send you a list of high, medium, and low matches based on how similar your forms are. You can also do a specialized search to pick those roommates that meet your particular requests (non-smoker, etc.) You are welcome to make contact with those people by sending a blind email through the system. If you choose, you may disclose personal contact information to learn more about the other resident. Management will not disclose personal contact information.
When will we receive room assignments?
Our reservation process is all online, in real time. When you have completed the application and reservation process, you will know your exact bed rented and roommates in that apartment at that time instantaneously.

Independence Place Apartments offer the following amenities: resort style swimming pool, 24-hour fitness center, 24-hour business center, Game room with Foosball and Pool Table, Basketball Court, and Picnic/Grilling area. Our amenities provide you with the perfect opportunity to relax after a hard day’s work at Fort Bliss, the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), or El Paso Community College.
